Camila was born in Fayetteville, North Carolina, but as a military child she lived around the world. Growing up, Camila used music to help her cope with the stressors that came with moving from place to place. She used music as an outlet to express herself by signing up for band classes, taking private piano lessons, and singing in church choirs. Camila knew she wanted to help others as a career and when she researched music therapy as an assignment in high school, she knew this was the job for her.

Camila received her Bachelors in Music Therapy from Berklee College of Music in Boston, Massachusetts. During her time at Berklee, she was able to gain experience working with non-verbal adolescents, young adults on the spectrum, older adults with dementia, and children in the hospital setting. She then went on to complete her internship with children of all ages and diagnoses at Johns Hopkins All Children’s Hospital in Saint Petersburg, Florida. Following the completion of her coursework, Camila worked in a residential behavioral health setting where she worked with adolescents.

“I am passionate about music therapy because I am a firm believer in how music has helped me throughout my life. I believe music is a strong force that can help us through not only hardships but through everyday life. I want to share that power of music with clients and families to help them excel in their goals.”
